These include escaping from a house fire (SO important, see my post on lessons I learned from a house fire) and severe weather events, such as hurricanes, forest fires, and flooding. The book is loaded with practical advice, complete with checklists to help you get and stay organized for an evacuation.

Emergency Evacuations is a well-written, well-organized book. Lisa’s writing has a conversational tone, which makes for a pleasant read. The book takes an often overwhelming task of organizing documents and supplies for easy access, and breaks it down into easily digestible bits.

Lisa Bedford is the owner of TheSurvivalMom.com and well-known in the prepper community. She is also the author of another on of my favorite books, Survival Mom: How to Prepare Your Family for Every Day Disasters and Worst-Case Scenarios.

One thing that impressed me was that this book is ideal for both preppers and non-preppers. It is solution-oriented, and does not carry the all-to-frequent doom, panic, and dire tone of many survival guides on the market.
