After weeks of back and forth with Amazon without resolution, it was time to give up the fight. I still have no idea why it was pulled.
Moving forward, I needed to another way to make my coronavirus book available. The title has been updated to reflect the official name of the disease. I’ve written an additional bonus chapter. You can get it here at Daisy Luther’s website, The Organic Prepper.
If you already purchased my book from Amazon and want the bonus chapter, we got you covered. Send an email to firstname.lastname@example.org, and we’re happy to send you the update at no charge. Please allow 24-48 hours.
This book explains in plain terms what a coronavirus is, why this virus is a serious risk, and provides a crash course in how to prepare for a pandemic. In it, I cover:
- Why RNA viruses present extra risks
- The importance and difficulty of obtaining good information during a pandemic
- Acute Respiratory Distress Syndrome (ARDS)
- Mortality Rate
- How many people will get sick
- How many people will die
- Is our medical system ready for COVID-19
- How to do a Self-Imposed Reverse Quarantine (SIRQ)
- How to set up quarantine and isolation rooms
- How to set up a sanitation station
- Food storage and water supply
- Security concerns
- Financial concerns
- My take as an herbalist on supportive care
I used those weeks while we tried to sort out the issue with Amazon to write a bonus chapter. COVID-19 is an evolving situation, and a lot had transpired since writing the book that I thought should get addressed.
- Updated statistics
- The emerging policy of “Don’t Test, Don’t Tell”
- Government is officially in Public Panic Management Mode
- Why comparing COVID-19 to the flu is a terrible comparison
- The truth about, “Do masks work?”
- Economic fallout
- How much time do we have before COVID-19 peaks
For future updates as COVID-19 spreads and the economic and health emergencies collide, I will be offering a series of free webinars and YouTube videos. In these, I will cover more ideas for supportive care with herbs, plus ideas for frugal herbalism, frugal living, and surviving the coming economic fallout.

Why I Wrote This Book
The moment I heard about a novel coronavirus causing clusters of pneumonia cases, it grabbed my attention. See, back in 2015, I wrote a book on pandemics, Prepping for a Pandemic: Life-Saving Supplies, Skills and Plans for Surviving an Outbreak. In it, I cover what happens during a pandemic at the local, state, and federal levels, how media respond, how healthcare providers care, and so much more.
I also listed my top seven picks for the next great pandemic. On that list- coronavirus. Here we are, in 2020, facing exactly what I said would happen.
My goal was to produce something of value that would help people get ready for what was about to happen. I was in the a unique position of having written about this before, and having discussed this potential at length on my old internet radio show, Herbal Prepper Live. This made it possible for me to write a guide specifically for this pandemic, even in its early stages.
What a Way to Come Back to Work!
Previously, I had taken time off of work to deal with my own health issues. I apologize for the absence, but things were serious and had to be addressed.
I returned to work part time, seeing local herbal clients and writing occasional articles over at The Organic Prepper. I had just made the decision to return to work full time about a week before the COVID-19 outbreak kicked off in Wuhan, China. So, it’s been quite the wild ride. I didn’t expect to be diving head first into pandemic preparedness right off the bat. But, here we are.
This Is Going to Be a Long Emergency
There’s so much more we need to be ready for as a consequence to the COVID-19 pandemic. The need to protect public health and the need to mitigate the damage to our economy seem at odds with each other. The fallout from this pandemic will be felt for a long time to come. I’ve done all the warning I can do.
My goal moving forward from this moment is to provide actionable steps toward becoming more self-reliant, especially in your own health and wellness care. Please, if you haven’t already, sign up for my newsletter so you can be notified when I post this material.
